However, we live in an Age of “virtualization” as most “devices”, equipment and functional aspects of assets migrate to cloud-based storage systems and hosting platforms. Hence, we have these “services” downloaded and used from “virtual resources” from the user perspective. And this is really cool since many more businesses today opt-in for virtualized “assets” in the bid to drive cost as low as possible in order to make profit and sustain the going concern.
The question then come to how do we correctly assess these “online” platforms in order to make informed investment decisions? In the financial circles, they are referred to as “intangible” such as brand names, trademarks, intellectual property rights and titles. Such valuation is to a great extent subjective and is based on market perception of such brands being valued.
