Living Life, By Design
There is the wisdom to choose to live life by default or to live it by design.
Living life by design simply means living a life with vision, purpose and goals. It means living a life that you intended to live, and not one that just happens to you, so that your life becomes full of “happen-stances”. Most of us are already either living our lives by design or by default. It is not something that we have no control of. It is entrenched in our life choices, habits, activities, tasks, event, occasions, games, career, relationships, words, actions, etc. that make us live out our lives as free-moral agents, since life itself is spontaneous.
However, Life was not meant to be lived by default. This may be true for animals, trees or vegetation, but not for MAN. G-d created man to live with a purpose and vision. Man is both a free-moral agent and a creative being, meaning that he has the right to choose his destination & destiny and then also to frame or create the picture of where he is going to before actually embarking on the trip.
This is why God gave us his Word to build our lives with. He gave it to us as a manual or mirror upon which we can view, review, reflect and create mental pictures of that image which he reveals to us in our inner person.[Get this Book “The Power of Your Mind”] So, he says “…man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from G-d’s mouth…” meaning that man must be INSPIRED to live his life. The word “inspiration” has embedded in it “breath”, “energy”, “motivation”, “passion”, “enthusiasm”. Man must live his life by inspiration. This is how G-d designed it.
So how does inspiration come to us? They come through words, pictures, sights and sounds. This is the essence of the word “…faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of G-d…” meaning that faith in the heart of man is inspired through hearing God-inspired words. This is the essence of MEDITATION which also has the “Speaking” or “Muttering” times embedded in this activity. It deals with the inner core of man which is the sublime matter aka his spirit and soul. Hence, meditation is an ingredient to man’s success in this Life.
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall mediate thereupon day and night…so that you can make your way prosperous and have good success” [Joshua 1:8].
Seasons
G-d already knew he set the stars and planetary bodies to control the seasons and times (See Genesis 1:14). And since as long as this Earth remains, man must work within these cycles (Genesis 8:22) “Seed-Time-Harvest-Cold-Heat-Day-Night”, it is very imperative for the man who has the vision of success to know how to plan & use his resources wisely.

On a high-level, these “Cycles” can be grouped into three (3) major cycles:
- · Earth Cycle – 1 “Seed-Time-Harvest”
- · Earth Cycle – 2 “Cold and Heat, Summer and Winter” (Seasonal Cycles)
- · Earth Cycle – 3 “Day and Night”
So the above can be simplified as below

Now, I do not think that anyone can successfully argue the non-existence of these “cycles” in our everyday lives. At least one of those cycles pushed you out of your bed this morning. It called the “Night-Day” cycle. The other one moved you to go to work, namely the “Time-Seed-Harvest” cycle. Another one would make you invest in the some worthwhile business venture, it’s called the “Seed-Time-Harvest” cycle. While another would inspire to soon plan your vacation for a holiday with your family at the Caribbean Island, he is called “Cold-Heat-Summer-Winter” cycle.
I love the “Seed-Time-Harvest” cycle a lot because I have been engaged in agriculture while growing up and understand what it means to “reap what you sowed”.
G-d has so designed this “Earth-cycle” so that man must live and operate within the bounds of these “cycles”. They form the boundaries and limitations within which he must carry out his daily, weekly, monthly, annual and seasonal activities till he leaves this place. Break any of these cycles only to your disadvantage. But the wise understand how to maneuver or leverage on these “cycles” to attain their life goal or dream.
TIME
As I write this blog, what keeps popping off my mind is “what benefit under the sun is such a blog to me?” I am only motivated by two things, one, that it would benefit mankind and two, harvest, I would at least reap the proceeds of increased traffic to my blogsite and its attendant benefits. I like to recall that saying at this juncture “…go to the ant you lazy man and learn his ways how he packs or heaps food in the summer (heat) in preparation of winter (cold)”…
So what lesson do I have to learn from Mr. Ant? I learned the principle of storage, and business. During the summer, there is plenty of TIME and nobody notices that such TIME is a scarce resource. Why? Because the Season allows you to do anything you like. Hence, the wisdom here is that the Summer (a season that is convenient) must be employed wisely for sowing. This is how I take advantage of the “Cold-Heat-Summer-Winter” cycle, by employing the “Seed-time-harvest” cycle. Hence, I must be wise at time management, personal development, investment & business.
SEED
Seed here refers to the resources which G-d has made available to you while you sojourn on this Earth. Such resources are money (finance), goods, people, material, and other valuable resources such as gold, diamond, platinum, copper, cocoa, and such other agricultural resources. I have always believed the farmer happens to be wiser than the man who lives in the metropolitan city. Why? He simply understands that what regulates GDP is the planting (sowing) and harvest seasonal cycles. These “planting and harvesting” cycles whether you know it or not also regulate human activities and productivity cycles all over the world. Productivity cycles are never evenly distributed across the twelve calendar months available in a yearly calendar cycle.
